The urban changes carried out in Rome in the XIX century deleted several evidences of the city’s history. The full demolition of the architectural heritage of the Jewish Ghetto and the construction of the river embankment eliminated important elements of the landscape, such as the layered configuration of historical buildings and districts and their relationship with the river. The conservation of the memory of a lost landscape depends on the fruition of its historic documentation: a virtual 3D reconstruction of the Jewish Ghetto was realized with the specific purpose of increasing and promoting the knowledge of the area as it appeared in the XIX century. It makes the fruition of paths, streets and squares possible thanks to an interactive application that lets people walk virtually through them. It was a scientific work, based on a deepened research of historical cartographic, iconographic and photographic documents and realized by their cataloguing and organization in a database. The study and interpretation of all the information deduced permitted the realization of a virtual model of the lost architectonical heritage that values the historical landscape restoring its lost image.
